Water fasting is the most powerful because it allows our bodies to use 90% of their energy to rebuild, cleanse, and revitalize themselves. When we only drink water day after day the only activity our bodies have in the digestion area is to digest water which is very simple, so the rest of our bodies’ energy goes to repairing, cleansing and revitalizing our bodies.

In my opinion when doing a fast with water it is best to start with one day, then if you are OK go for two days then three and work your way up to seven days, then slowly go back to your regular eating. A seven day water fast will be a very big job, so that is why I talk about starting it for only one or two days, if you start to feel very week and are not able to do anything, stop the fasting.

One thing we must all remember when doing any kind of fasting, we must have adequate energy and feel strong enough to go without food for a few days time, if we feel week after the first day or so then we need to stop, our bodies are telling us we are not ready to do the fast.

Feeling week is not the same as feeling pain and aches, bodily pain and aches will come from starting the fasting normally, it’s just our bodies way of saying to us. “What in the world are you doing to me!” we can feel the pain and aches and still have enough energy to continue the fasting but if we feel week with the pain and aches then we need to stop.

To do a fast with water all we need to do is drink water throughout the day, drinking worm water or room temperature water is best, cold water or freezing water is less helpful and can be harder on our bodies.

Any kind of fasts if done properly will be very beneficial for us, water fasting can give us more energy, better cardiovascular system, healthier skin, better teeth, it will help us sleep better, decrease in tension and stress, reduction of headaches, the rebalance of blood pressure, a much better digestion, better weight loss or the balance of weight, elimination of toxins and any aches and pains we might have will be eliminated.

The aches and pains associated with fasting only stay around for about a day, after our bodies understand they have no need for food, they stop sending pain signals and start concentrating on cleansing and revitalizing us.

If you would like to start on something easier and work your way up to water fasting you can always try a fruit fast, or a juice fast or a yogurt fast, all of these fasts are much easier than a water fast because our bodies are getting many vitamins and minerals while we are fasting, so it is kind of like eating at the same time, just not all the complex carbohydrates and proteins.
